A group of members of the “rando entre Lot et Truyère” club participated in the usual autumn outing on the island of Oléron. The imposed dates did not allow everyone to participate but the friendly atmosphere which characterizes the group was still very appreciated, during these 4 days, accompanied by Jean-Philippe: “the man of the island” passionate about the ocean, nature and heritage of Charente-Maritime. The hikers stayed on the island of Oléron to discover the program concocted by Gilbert and the holiday village.
The northern tip of Oléron; with the rocky coast to the Chassiron lighthouse, the fishing port of Cotinière, a vineyard with the tasting of Pineau des Charentes; the southern point of the island, with Fort Royer and St-Pierre-d’Oléron, with its citadel, its port and its colorful cabins; a visit to an oyster farming site, with tasting and a remarkable and fascinating presentation; Pointe de Maumusson and Gatseau Bay, between forest, coastline and marshes were pleasant to discover.
