The elected official from Briançonnais, vice-president of the Hautes-Alpes department in charge of sports, was re-elected this Tuesday, October 15 in -Bayard (Hautes-Alpes), president of Nordic for a three-year term. Marine Michel took over as head of the structure which brings together 160 Nordic sites in France in 2021, succeeding Isérois d’Autrans Thierry Gamot. During this general assembly, focused around the themes of diversification (multi-activity, mode of financing, economic models) and school practice (operation, supervision, educational content, reception), she declared: “We have a lot of future challenges for our sector and for the mountains in general. We must all be together for the next Olympic years! »

Due to the lack of snow at low and medium altitude, activity, boosted since the pandemic, saw a 13% drop in attendance last winter but the amount of fees remained comparable to the period before 2019. Mostly located in Low and medium altitude, Nordic areas were more impacted than alpine ski resorts by the lack of snow this winter.
