Baba Yaga digs into the hotel’s memory

Chantelle. Baba Yaga digs into the hotel’s memory. Exhibition, concert, music workshops and creative hobbies, Baba Yaga is buzzing this weekend.

For a little over two years, the Baba Yaga association has taken over the former Post Office and Travelers Hotel. Shows, workshops, artist residencies, activities have multiplied. Within the association, a memory group was created to retrace the history of the hotel. The fruit of their work is presented until the end of the month.

Exposition

Old photos, a chronology of owners and managers and a hint of local history illustrate the exhibition dedicated to the Hôtel de la Poste. The memory group unearthed old notarial deeds, searched through municipal and departmental archives to find the major stages that the building went through.

This exhibition is the first event organized by the group of volunteers who meet once a month at the café. Residents, sometimes even former customers, managers or even descendants of owners participate. Everyone is happy to see their circle growing.

Concert, tomorrow

Other activities are offered this week. Friday, at 8:30 p.m., concert by Qonbine Léruines. With double bass, transverse flute and loop pedal, she sings songs about the world of work or even patriarchy, adding a big dose of humor. The concert will be preceded by an animation around card games (tarot, belote).

Workshops, Saturday

On Saturday, two workshops are offered. At 2 p.m., felted wool workshop (from 8 years old) to create felt decorations (information on 06.50.46.07.35) and at 2:30 p.m., introduction to handpan (from 10 years old). The handpan is a metal percussion instrument (information on 06.98.73.93.12).
