The hydrological services predict a flood on the middle Tarn in the next 24 to 48 hours in the municipalities of Ayssenes, Brasc, Broquiès, Brousse-le-Château, Comprégnac, Connac Creissels, La Bastide-Solages, Le Truel, Millau, Montclar , Montjaux, Requista, Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon, Saint-Izaire, Saint-Victor-et-Malzieu, Viala-du-Tarn and Villefranche-de-Sanat.
The Mediterranean episode will continue until the night of Thursday to Friday with 2 to 3 peaks in intensity. The precipitation observed was at the origin of the first overflows on the Haut Tarn and the reactions by propagation are underway on the middle Tarn.
By propagation of upstream floods and in particular from the Tarn which constitutes the majority contribution, water levels should therefore rise in the Millau sector. Given the peak observed in Montbrun around 1 p.m., the first flood peak in Millau is expected in the evening of Wednesday October 16.
Peak flood on the night of Thursday October 17 and Friday October 18
After a temporary decline, a reactivation of the rains is expected during the night of Wednesday October 16 to Thursday October 17, the levels of the rivers should rise again throughout the day of this Thursday until reaching their maximums in the evening of Thursday or even in night of Friday October 18. A second flood peak in Millau is therefore expected on Friday morning.
Possible consequences: rapid rises in water levels and/or initial localized overflows are possible. Dangerous for water activities or campsites near rivers. Traffic conditions may be difficult locally.
Never drive onto a submerged road
Behavioral advice: stay informed; do not go down to the basements; stay away from watercourses and bridges; avoid practicing water activities; never drive onto a submerged road, even partially.
