QUÉBEC, the 10 oct. 2024 /CNW/ – The Musée de la civilization won the Excellence Prize last night for the bold and relevant exhibition One of a kind during the congress of the Société des musées du Québec (SMQ), which was held in Trois-Rivières.

The Excellence Awards aim to recognize, stimulate and reward excellence in museum practice in Quebec by honoring the achievements of SMQ members who have contributed significantly to the advancement of Quebec museology. One of a kind was designed and produced by the Musée de la civilization, presented by the TD Bank Group with the collaboration of Ubisoft.

For the record, let us mention that the Musée de la civilization won the SMQ Excellence Prize in 2022 for the exhibition Oh shit!, presented by H₂O Innovation with the collaboration of RECYC-QUÉBEC and Cascades, as well as the participation of Les Cabinets and Fairmont Le Château Frontenacas an official hotel.
Let us also remember that the Musée de la civilization will receive, on the occasion of the Émergence Gala of the Fondation Émergence on October 17, the Prix Janette-Bertrand for the exhibition One of a kind.

Interested in all questions having an impact on living together, the Museum of Civilization, a museum of society, offers an open and caring social dialogue with One of a kind. Designed and produced by the Musée de la civilization, presented by the TD Bank Group in collaboration with Ubisoft, from May 18, 2023 to April 14, 2024 at the Musée de la civilization, this exhibition allows you to explore the immense diversity of related experiences to gender identities and highlights how these have transformed over time and according to cultures, in Quebec as elsewhere. Through the prism of biology, anthropology and history, carried by a whole series of objects, testimonies and artistic installations, the contents explored there bring us back to the human dimension and reflect a thousand and one faces, to see and recognize.
