Monday October 14, in the afternoon, the gendarmes of the departmental road safety squadron checked more than twenty motorists, all in speedingon the D999 in Rodilhan, limited to 90 km/h.
In detail, the gendarmes of the motorized platoon fined twenty drivers for excesses of less than 40 km/h and three others for a speed between 40 and 50 km/h above normal, i.e. a motorcycle at 144 km/h. h, a car at 139 and another at 137. Knowing that the latter had just got his license back, recently lost for… speeding! A final motorist was arrested at 173 km/h. A driving without a license and a phone use are also added to the list of controls.
A hell of a toll in just a few hours which worries the road safety police. Especially since the rain yesterday afternoon should have forced drivers to slow down. “Without changing mentalities, this will still lead to tragedies on our roads”they warn.
