The accident took place in the middle of the roundabout linking Highway 31, Dollard Boulevard and Calixa Lavallée Street. Emergency services were called to the scene at 4:30 a.m. for a crash. Only one vehicle was involved.

The driver, a woman in her twenties, lost control of her car. “As she could have driven while impaired, steps were taken to take blood samples on site,” notes the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Élizabeth Marquis. Reenactors were sent to the scene.

A passenger was also in the vehicle. He is a man in his twenties. He suffered injuries, but there is no fear for his life. He will be questioned when his health permits.

The security perimeter established by the SQ was removed at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning, and traffic is moving normally in the area.
