He will take part in a minute of silence. Prime Minister Michel Barnier will go to the Conflans-Sainte-Honorine college () on Monday to pay tribute to the murdered professors Samuel Paty and Dominique Bernard, it is indicated in his diary.

The head of government will be accompanied by the Minister of Education, Anne Genetet, in the college where the former, killed by a refugee of Chechen origin in 2020, taught, according to RTL. They will observe the minute of silence which will be organized at the national level in middle and high schools in memory of the two teachers.

A ceremony in tribute to Dominique Bernard will also be held on Sunday in , a year after the attack committed in a high school in the city by a radicalized former student. Four ministers will attend, including Anne Genetet, and the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau.

The college renamed “Samuel Paty”

In Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, the d’Aulne college and the municipal council voted to rename the college “Samuel Paty”, a decision that the Yvelines departmental council must ratify. “It was a desire on our part to wait until each student who knew Samuel Paty leaves the establishment in order to be able to rename it,” indicates the mayor of the city, Laurent Brosse (Horizons), specifying that “this is the cases since September.”
