Since yesterday, Thursday October 10, Essonne has suffered heavy flooding, particularly in the municipalities of Gif-sur-Yvette, Bures-sur-Yvette, Palaiseau, Breuillet, Villebon-sur-Yvette, Briis-sous-Forges, Orsay, Dourdan and Longjumeau. This Friday, October 11 at 5 p.m., around 4,000 homes are still without electricity. At the peak of the crisis this morning, 4,500 customers were affected.
How does Enedis manage the situation?
Faced with this crisis, Enedis deployed a team of 15 technicians to intervene in the affected areas. Their actions consist of monitoring the network, identifying impacted structures and restoring electricity where water has withdrawn sustainably.
Enedis teams are also in constant contact with municipalities, prefectures and distribution network control centers to coordinate their efforts. The breakdown call center remains active to respond to emergencies.
When will power be restored?
Full restoration of current depends on the water receding. Enedis can only intervene if security conditions are met. As soon as possible, the technicians re-energize the compliant works. This weekend, reinforcements are planned to speed up the return to normal.
