Business meetings and France-Canada co-production from November 5 to 8 in Montreal

Laurent Méda, producer of TikTak Production, presents the fiction project of Michèle Reich who is participating in the « Business meeting and France-Canada co-production”.

This 17th edition will be held from November 5 to 8, 2024 in Montreal, in partnership with the 20th edition of the Rencontres de Coproduction Francophone.

PRESENTATION OF TIKTAK PRODUCTION (Reunion)

20 years ago, after living in England and South Africa, Laurent Médéa returned to his native island and created Tiktak Production, today the most prolific company on the island.

He has produced nearly fifty films for television and cinema (25 documentaries – TV and cinema – 2 fiction series, 15 short films, 3 feature films in international co-production, 5 animated films, etc.).

Laurent evolved his strategy by attacking the European international market, co-producing 3 feature films and executive produced 6 French and European feature films. Notably, Sweet Dreams by Ena Sendijarevic, the latest film that Laurent produced alongside Lemming Films and Plattform Produktion, owned by director Ruben Õtslund (Sans Filter, The Square), which was presented in preview at the Festival du film from Locarno and its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023. Nominated by the Netherlands, Sweet Dreams has been shortlisted for a nomination at the 2024 Oscars in Los Angeles in the Best International Film category.

Since the end of last year, Laurent has had the ambition to co-produce with North America (USA and Canada) and he is currently developing various ambitious projects with American and Canadian partners for a global audience.

Tiktak Production is working in particular on 1 fiction series project, between Reunion, France and Quebec.

Résumé : Serena, a young 21-year-old from Reunion Island, must leave her native island to free herself from the dictates linked to her gender and her family’s beliefs, in order to find her identity and her own voice as an artist of words. She does not know that an ancestral curse condemns all the women of her lineage. First in France then in Quebec, she finds the determination to stand up to destiny, and to assert her uniqueness, although her survival is threatened.

Michèle Reich, prolific author, has published a large number of works of fiction in the most diverse genres, while also writing scripts for television series. She also wrote numerous plays, which continue to be performed in Paris, Créteil and Cauterets. One of them was performed in Brussels and Morocco. After spending several years in Mayotte, and having taught at the University in the Mahoraise branch dependent on Reunion Island, while benefiting from media coverage, after having traveled on five continents and written numerous travel diaries, Michèle lives in Paris, where she devotes herself to writing.
