XALIMANEWS-The former director general of the Agency for the development and supervision of small and medium-sized enterprises (Adepme), Idrissa Diabira, was recently stranded at Blaise Diagne International Airport (Aibd) while he was preparing to go abroad. “He was supposed to go to Nairobi, but was prevented from boarding by the airport authorities,” confided an anonymous source to the daily L’Observateur.

Although the newspaper did not specify the date of the incident, it attempted to contact Idrissa Diabira for clarification, without success. “I have no comment to make at this stage,” he reportedly replied.

Idrissa Diabira led Adepme for seven years, from 2017 to 2024. L’Observateur underlines that he played an important role in the development of Macky Sall’s Yoonu Yokkuté program.

Before Idrissa Diabira, other personalities, including two ministers and a director general under Macky Sall, were also prevented from leaving Senegal. They are Lat Diop, Abdoulaye Sow and Mamadou Guèye, former ministers of Sports and Urban Planning and former director of Domaines. The new authorities justify these measures by the need to prevent members of the old regime from fleeing possible legal summons in the context of accountability.
