Want to become the next winner of the Grand Prix de la Pâtisserie de 2025? It’s time to apply! We’re going to have to play it local this year, because that’s the imposed theme. You have until October 21, 2024 to participate. Artisans and future pastry talents, this is your chance to shine!

Paris Is it your home and you want to show your talent? The Paris Pastry Grand Prix returns for its 4th edition. Initiated by the City of Paris in collaboration with the famous pastry chef Pierre Hermethis prestigious competition is an opportunity for each pastry chef, baker and pastry chef from Parisian hotels and restaurants to show their know-how. And why not follow in the footsteps of Ramin Sami, Jordan Talbot or Quentin Lechatnames recognized today in the field?

If in the past, we awaited the winner of the Grand Prix de la Baguettetoday it is the creativity of pastry artisans which Paris also celebrates. There Parisian botanical wealth is in the spotlight for this new edition of the Pastry Grand Prix, a competition born in 2019 to promote the know-how of the capital’s artisan pastry chefs.

The theme chosen this year, centered on the aromatic herbs of Paris, reveals the extent of the hidden treasures and unsuspected riches of the City of Lights and contributes to pushing the boundaries of our profession“, underlines Pierre Hermé, pastry chef and chocolate maker, partner of the City of Paris since the launch of the event.

On the program:

  • A prize for professionals : Intended for experts in the field.
  • A prize for young talents : An opportunity for students from Parisian establishments, whether they are in the final year of Bac Pro, BTS or even in a Parisian pastry school.

A captivating theme : Aromatic herbs from Paris. Candidates must incorporate aromatic plants and herbs growing in the capital’s woods.

A local touch : Each creation must integrate at least one Parisian ingredient. You can collaborate with the Parisculteurs network or those labeled “Made in Paris” to find this unique ingredient.

The following criteria will be taken into account:

  • The taste

  • The technicality of the recipe and the manufacturing process

  • Creativity and respect for the theme

  • The quality and origin of raw materials

  • Aesthetics

If you feel ready to take on the challenge, do not hesitate to submit your application. You have until October 21 at 2 p.m. to join the adventure.

The selection process takes place in two stages:

Technical preselection on file : Before October 21, applications are evaluated on their conformity, respect for the theme and the use of a Parisian ingredient.

Jury selection : Successful candidates will present six copies of their pastry. The jury, co-chaired by Olivia Polski and Pierre Hermé, will judge on criteria such as taste, technique, creativity and aesthetics.

To accommodate as many participants as possible, the organization has set the cost of making each pastry at less than 3 euros. The rewards? In addition to recognition, the professional winner will win 4.000 euros offered by the City, while the student winner will be offered a one-week internship at Pierre Herme. A ceremony at City Hall will pay tribute to these talents.
