MP Hugo Prévost excluded from the Insoumise group for “serious acts of a sexual nature”

La insoumise announced this Tuesday, October 8 in a press release the exclusion of MP Hugo Prévost for “serious acts of a sexual nature that could amount to criminal offenses.”

Facts prior to his election. The France Insoumise parliamentary group has one less MP. This Tuesday evening, the party indicated in a press release shared on X the exclusion of Hugo Prévost, elected in the 1st constituency of Isère.

The LFI parliamentary group wrote that it had been contacted on September 23 by the party’s Vigilance Committee against Sexist and Sexual Violence (CVSS). The deputy is targeted for “serious acts of a sexual nature which may amount to criminal offenses”, which occurred before his election on July 7.

Heard on October 2 by the office of the parliamentary group, Hugo Prévost had to face several testimonies supporting the accusations against him.

La France insoumise nevertheless recalled that its decision “relates to precaution and the protection of people and are not court decisions”.

Aged 25, Hugo Prévost was elected for the first time during the early legislative elections during which he beat the outgoing MP and former Minister of Health Olivier Véran.
