08/10/2024 – The online and Minecraft festival is back for its 2nd edition from October 11 to November 3 with 20 films on the program and a fun quest in the History of the 7th art

Launched last year by Unifrance, the international promotion agency for French cinema and audiovisual, with the support of the Creative Europe – MEDIA program of the European Commission, MyMetaStories, the very innovative European film festival in the world is preparing to raise the curtain on its second edition. Its main objective? Raise awareness among young audiences, and particularly gamers, about European films, using their uses and their universe.

From October 11 to November 3, international movie buffs will be able to access films from the second edition of MyMetaStories on more than 30 partner VOD platforms. And from October 18 to 21, they will be able to enjoy the unique experience of the festival in Minecraft.

The program includes 20 films, including seven feature films (screened at the biggest festivals including Toronto, , Berlin, Karlovy Vary and Locarno) and 13 shorts, from 14 European countries and available in six subtitling languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. from Dutch David Verbeek will be the first feature film ever screened in Minecraft where all the short films will also be accessible, all in an extremely creative fun universe (which has been tested by the press) intended to arouse the curiosity of gamers with regard to European cinema.

This unique virtual cinematographic world, where each film has its own immersive projection room, has been designed to immerse players in the world of each work. These environments offer a visual experience inspired by pixel art, also include a quest and mini-games themed on the history of European cinema. Players will indeed be propelled into an adventure that is both fun and educational in search of the moon from the famous film Journey to the Moon of Georges Mélièsa quest that will allow them to discover the great eras of European cinema, while paying tribute to its masterpieces and emblematic figures.
