The Beasts and Witches festival is back from October 19 to November 3, 2024 to offer its terrifying program to the Mosellans. For this 7th editionthese are 148 animations for young and old that are offered in the area.

Get ready, monsters, ghosts, witches and other demonic creatures await you. Some events are reserved for an informed public, while others are suitable for families.

  • The Corridors of Fear at the Citadel of Bitche

Perched on its rock in the Moselle Carpathians, the old fort imbued with reminiscences of eight centuries of history invites young and old to set off to meet the ghosts of its past. Because on All Saints’ Eve, at nightfall, its underground passages, usually so dark and disturbing, transform into a disturbing place where demons regain power!

The Corridors of Dread are strongly not recommended for children under 16 years old. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The route is not recommended for pregnant women. For families, October 29 will offer a less frightening route than usual.

  • Panic at Malbrouck Castle

As All Saints’ Day approaches, the majestic castle which overlooks the Valley of the Three Borders will be transformed into a place as gloomy as it is sinister in which monsters, evil creatures and other evil-intentioned spirits have the firm desire to regain power… You will need lots of courage to dare to face these diabolical creatures ready to fight at the slightest opportunity…

From October 25 to 27, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The full price is €10 and the reduced price is €5. Entrance is free for children under 6 years old. Reservations can be made online by clicking here.

  • The Fort of the Apocalypse at the Simserhof Works (novelty)

For its very first year of participation in the Beasts & Witches Festival, the Simserhof project has seen things big! The Maginot Line Fort will invite an informed public into a totally apocalyptic universe, through a vast immersive tour in the site’s ammunition store, hosted by the Anim’Fort Troupe.

The route is strongly not recommended for under 16s, people with heart problems, epileptics and pregnant women as well as sensitive people.

  • The Night of the Grimacing Beets at the Château de Saint-Sixte

For more than fifteen years now, Freistroff has been replaying the legend of the Rommelbootzennaat every year, when beets held the upper hand over pumpkins! Throughout the All Saints’ Day holidays, many activities that are as bewitching as they are fun are on the program. Tasting at your own risk of the witch’s pot, wizards’ bar, magic potion workshops, beet carving, treasure hunts and other shows will allow the whole family to relive this 100% Moselle tradition in real life.

From October 19 to 27, 2024 (weekends only), from 4:00 p.m. Entry to the estate is only between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. and the gates are closed from 5:00 p.m.

Reservations are required. They can be done online by clicking here. The price is €15 per person and entry is free for children under 4 years old. Spectators are invited to come dressed up with their luminous beetroot.

  • The Haunted Garden at the Jardin des Traces in Uckange

The Garden of Traces does not escape the terrifying frenzy: from October 7, witches and macabre creatures take up residence there. Explore the imaginary world of Halloween, with simply terrifying decorations. The youngest (from 6 years old) will play at scaring themselves by making nightmarish masks, from recycled materials.

From October 8 to November 1, 2024, Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Child rate: €3 up to 10 years old and free for children under 3 years old. Online reservations by clicking here.

  • Saving Private Muller at Fort WAGNER (novelty)

Find the clues left by soldier Muller during the Phoney War in a fortified structure. You will have to inform him as quickly as possible that the armistice has been signed, in order to avoid him being taken prisoner. But be careful, if the fort seems completely abandoned, you might not be alone… Watch your back!

  • The Horror Express in Abreschviller

Don’t be fooled by its nicely old-fashioned appearance, the Abreschviller train will in no way be intended to take you for a nice stroll in the forest! On the contrary, you may even encounter travelers who are curious to say the least… when they are not downright terrifying! A gloomy moonlit journey to explore thrills!

  • Les Contes l’antre see in Vic-sur-Seille

  • The Fantastic Creatures festival returns to Parc de Sainte-

Throughout the All Saints’ Day holidays, the Sainte-Croix animal park is getting into the spirit of Beasts & Witches with a… very frightening program, thanks to a truly special paleo-monster edition! Transform yourself into an adventurer and enter a whole new universe! Put yourself in the shoes of a paleontologist to participate in an investigation into a prehistoric battle: you will discover mythical creatures.

  • Fear Animals at Amnéville Zoo

For this new edition of Animals of Fear, immerse yourself in a captivating atmosphere with activities for young and old, in the heart of wild fauna. To highlight this year, a big novelty: The Labyrinth of Wolves! Discover an immersive journey located at La Paillotte, where five mythical tales will immerse you in the world of the wolf, this character that is both fascinating and feared.

Fear Animals takes place from October 19 to November 3, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Amnéville Zoo will also host the new edition of the Luminescences festival as well as an evening with a zombie wandering on November 1st.
