Missed plane: train did not stop at Zurich airport

This Saturday morning around 6 a.m., the IC5 from Zurich station was crowded. Many passengers were on their way to the airport to catch their plane. However, “on the train, we were told that there was a technical problem and that it would not be able to stop at the airport,” explains a Zurich resident, who had to go to Turkey. The IC5 then drove straight on and finally only stopped in Winterthur.

On site, a connection was waiting for passengers to leave in the opposite direction, towards the airport. But the travelers lost a good half hour in the process. “Countless people therefore missed their flights,” says our reader, who herself missed the plane she was supposed to take with her family.

In their case, they were certainly able to take another flight, but they had to pay for a new ticket out of their own pocket. “On the phone, the SBB were unaware of anything. I really hope that the costs will be covered,” continues the Zurich resident. Contacted by “20 minutesn”, the CFF confirmed the incident and apologized to the passengers affected by this delay. On the other hand, the question of reimbursement was not answered.
