Around 10 a.m., this Tuesday, May 7, 2024, Kylian Ferchaud, student at IES business school in Les Sables-d’Olonne (Vendée), made a very curious discovery.

He goes 200 m with the shell in his hands

While a cleaning operation on Tanchet beach was organized in partnership with the Meravenir association, Kylian Ferchaud found a strange object that he mistakenly confused with “with waste”. He carries it nearly 200 m before having doubts and presenting it to a member of the association, who confirms that it is… a shell.

The police were immediately notified and a security perimeter was set up. Alerted, the deminers have not yet arrived on site.

Problem: during high tides, the shell could be submerged.
