A 25-year-old man was the victim of an armed attack Tuesday morning in the borough of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie, in Montreal.

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was alerted around 5 a.m. for a person possibly injured by a sharp object at the corner of rue Beaubien Est and 29e Avenue.

When the police arrived on scene, they located the victim conscious, but with injuries to his upper body, in front of a Couche-Tard convenience store.

She was transported to a hospital, but there is no fear for her life, said SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.

According to initial information, a conflict degenerated between the victim and a suspect who fled after the attack, according to the SPVM.

A perimeter was erected to protect the scene while awaiting the arrival of investigators to analyze it and try to determine the circumstances of this armed attack.

The police carried out checks to see if any surveillance cameras could have captured the images of the attack, while the investigation continues.
