France reaffirms its “unwavering attachment” to the “exceptional partnership” with Morocco – Le1

Faced with the obvious legal errors and suspicious factual errors of the Court of Justice of the European Union concerning agricultural and fisheries agreements, officially adopts a firm position. In a press release, the Quai d’Orsay underlines ’ desire to maintain and deepen its privileged relations with Rabat.

This declaration reaffirms France’s unwavering support for Morocco, highlighting an “exceptional partnership” that transcends European legal challenges. France is also committed to working to strengthen ties between the EU and Morocco, while supporting development efforts in the Sahara.

On October 4, 2024, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) delivered three judgments concerning the agreements between the European Union and Morocco, as well as the labeling of products from the Sahara. Faced with these decisions, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a statement reaffirming its position and its commitment to Morocco.

France takes note of the judgments of the CJEU

In its communication, the Quai d’Orsay took note of the judgments of the CJEU, while emphasizing that it was not up to it to comment on a court decision. However, France took this opportunity to reiterate its “unwavering attachment” to its exceptional partnership with Morocco, described as strategic.

An exceptional partnership reaffirmed with Morocco

The declaration highlights France’s desire to continue and deepen its relations with the Shereef kingdom. Paris is also committed to working, alongside its European partners, to strengthen trade, particularly economic trade, between the EU and Morocco. This approach aims to preserve the achievements of the partnership, while respecting the framework of international law.

The Quai d’Orsay also recalls the words of Emmanuel Macron, addressed to King Mohammed VI during the Throne Day. France reaffirms its determination to support Morocco’s efforts in favor of the economic and social development of the Sahara, with the aim of improving the living conditions of local populations.

This diplomatic declaration, marked by firmness and loyalty, is part of a complex geopolitical context where the judgments of the CJEU raise concerns about the balance of relations between the EU and Morocco. These decisions could potentially significantly impact certain economic sectors and European markets closely linked to trade with Morocco.

Faced with the errors of bureaucrats influenced by Algerian petrodollars, France forcefully reaffirms its role as an unwavering partner of the Cherifian kingdom. Paris thus illustrates its ability to overcome the inertia of European bureaucracy to preserve a first-rate strategic partnership.
