To receive your CAF benefits this month, you have to wait a little longer than usual… but on the other hand, some recipients might be happy to see an increase in their aid.
Recipients who receive Personalized Housing Assistance (APL) will see the amount they receive be greater than usual. The reason? The revaluation of APLs, which occurred on October 1st. On average, this aid is up 3.26% for recipients.
Each year, APLs are revalued on October 1, “depending on the evolution of the rental reference index (IRL) for the 2nd quarter of the current year», explains service-public.fr. Furthermore, if the average revaluation is 3.26% for beneficiaries, the level of revaluation is different for each beneficiary, and depends in particular on “of his city of residence, his family situation and his resources”.
APL is aid whose amount is calculated based on several parameters: the amount of rent, the number of dependents living in your household, the amount of your resources, the value of your real estate and financial assets.
To benefit from this increase in your APL, you do not have to take any action. The increase “is applied automatically by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) or the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA)», Indicates service-public.fr. However, check on your online space that it has been taken into account and that the updated amount has been paid. If you have a problem, contact CAF or MSA.
A household receiving 350 euros of APL will, for example, see their allowance increase by a little more than 11€. Someone who receives €120 of APL could, for their part, see an increase of almost €4 on their payment.
Late payment
But you will have to wait a little longer before seeing this increase in your APL. While payments are generally received on the 5th of the month, recipients will have to wait at least this Monday, October 7 to receive their aid, such as active solidarity income (RSA) or personalized housing assistance (APL). Indeed, the CAF “pays allowances to banking establishments on the 5th of each month“, she explains on her site.
But, if the 5th falls on a Saturday or Sunday, that changes the situation. In October, the 5th falling on a Saturday, CAF made the payment this Friday, but due to banking delays, it will be necessary to wait at least until Monday to see the transfer arrive on the account, confirmed the press service of the CAF to our colleagues at Parisian.
On its website, CAF also reminds that “the actual payment into your account varies depending on your banking establishment. Whatever the payment date, you will therefore have to wait 1 to 3 days before seeing the amount appear in your account».
