Banjul, May 5 (APS) – The advent of a Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs reflects the desire of the new Senegalese authorities to prioritize relations with African countries, indicated the current head of this ministerial department. .

”African integration and Foreign Affairs, it’s not just an empty word,” said Yassine Fall, interviewed by the APS on the sidelines of the OIC Summit which ended on Sunday in Banjul, the Gambian capital.

”It is a political will of the government, the President of the Republic and his Prime Minister to favor relations with African countries, to strengthen bilateral cooperation and regional cooperation,” she said, in explaining the recent trips of the Head of State to Mauritania, Gambia and Guinea-Bissau.

According to her, ”it is the line and the orientation of the government to therefore strengthen relations, pan-Africanism at the cultural level, at the political level, economic level so that Africa can position itself”.

”Africa has all the assets in human resources and knowledge to be able to position itself at the international level. This is also why it was important for the president to be there and make these visits (…)”, she welcomed.
