Ziguinchor, May 5 (APS) – Sports journalist Bacary Cissé, advisor to footballer Sadio Mané, offered, on Sunday, a batch of sports equipment to the 33 football clubs in the Ziguinchor region (south), noted the APS.
”I only did my duty as a son of the Ziguinchor region. Being a sports journalist, I know the difficulties clubs face in terms of equipment. This is why I took the initiative to support the president of the regional football league, Irama Djiba, by donating a batch of sports equipment to the 33 clubs in the region,” he said during the ceremony of handing over this donation.
”It’s a symbolic participation, which will allow club presidents to breathe a little. We want to make our contribution,” he added, specifying that each club benefited from a pair of jerseys, a financial package and five footballs.
Bacary Cissé also pleaded for the Ziguinchor Regional Football League to have a seat to enable it to “carry out its missions”.
President Djiba expressed his satisfaction and welcomed Mr. Cissé’s gesture.
”It’s a very nice gesture and our clubs really need to be equipped. Today we feel a feeling of satisfaction,” he rejoiced.
