This Saturday, May 4, the Cognac firefighters were confronted with two traffic accidents, which occurred a few minutes apart, resulting in injuries to several people.

According to La Charente Libre, the first incident took place around 12:20 p.m., on the Cognac deviation (RN 141), near Leclerc, involving two cars. A driver, aged around twenty, and her passenger, aged 17, were slightly injured in this head-on collision. They were taken to Cognac hospital to receive treatment. The driver of the other vehicle refused to be transported. Traffic was disrupted in both directions for approximately an hour, causing significant delays.

Paris road collision: a young woman seriously injured

The second accident, more serious, occurred around 12:50 p.m., on the road to Paris, near the station. A 22-year-old young woman, driving an Opel Agila, lost control of her vehicle for an as yet undetermined reason. After zigzagging from right to left, she hit the wall of Château Pellisson, before being hit on the right side by a Renault Kangoo coming in the opposite direction. Seriously injured, the young woman was treated on site by the firefighters, before being evacuated in absolute emergency to the Poitiers University Hospital. Traffic was interrupted while emergency services intervened, then resumed around 3 p.m.
