From October 4 to 14, 2024, the Science Festival is this year around the theme “Ocean of knowledge”, an ideal opportunity for science enthusiasts to dive into a universe rich in discoveries.

Saturday October 5 will be particularly marked by a series of activities and workshops at Grau-du-Roi, hosted by the Seaquarium Institut Marin.

Mini science village in Grau-du-Roi
The festivities will begin at 10:00 a.m. on the square in front of the Grau-du-Roi Town Hall, where the Mini Science Village will be waiting for you. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., participants will be able to explore workshops dedicated to sea lines, an opportunity to discover coastal biodiversity and the importance of coastlines.

Live interviews with the Discovery Machine
From 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., don’t miss the Discovery Machine, a mobile scientific mediation device. Live interviews will be broadcast on the University of Nîmes Twitch channel, providing a platform to discuss scientific issues with experts.

Workshops at Seaquarium
In the afternoon, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., workshops will be offered on the Seaquarium square, focusing on seabirds and the water cycle. These interactive activities will allow participants to better understand marine ecosystems and the impact of climate change on our natural resources.

The Science Festival is an initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, aimed at raising awareness of science among the general public. This event, which takes place throughout the department, includes meetings and activities for all ages, from families to schools.
