The new Senegalese president, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, returns to Gambia a few weeks after his first official visit.

Indeed, the Senegalese Head of State made his first official visit on April 20, 2024.

This Saturday, May 4, 2024, the new elected leader returned there in the company of a delegation.

This time, Bassirou Diomaye Faye is going there as part of the 15th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

According to the Presidency of the Republic of , Bassirou Diomaye Faye was invited by his Gambian counterpart, President Adam Barrow.

Note that this summit, which will bring together several heads of state and government, will be held in Banjul, the Gambian capital from May 4 to 5, 2024.

“Strengthening unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development”, this is the theme of this 15th OIC summit.

It should be noted that this international conference will allow the different personalities gathered to discuss the issues and challenges of the Islamic Ummah.

To this end, participants will have to think about appropriate strategies to promote the promotion of “unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development”.

Questions relating to economic, humanitarian, social and cultural aspects will also be at the center of the discussions.
