Nele Gilis, 4th player in the world, scored the first point for Belgium by beating Georgina Kennedy (PSA 6) in four sets, 11-2, 11-8, 11-13 and 11-5 after 1 hour and 4 minutes of play .

England equalized with the three-set victory of Lucy Turmel (PSA 30) over Marie Van Riet (PSA 203), 11-8, 11-7, 11-2, in 24 minutes.

In the decisive , Tinne Gilis (PSA 9) dominated Jasmine Hutton (PSA 29) in three sets, 11-8, 12-10 and 11-2, and 33 minutes, giving Belgium the victory and the title. Reserve in the final, Chloé Crabbé (PSA 320) was also part of the Belgian team.

This is the first time that Belgium has been crowned European team champion. The Belgians were beaten by the English in the final last year. Belgium also won bronze in 2018 and 2019.

England, titled 42 times in 45 editions, concedes only its third defeat in the history of the competition, after being beaten in the final in 2010 by the Netherlands and in 2019 by .

In the men’s tournament, Belgium lost 2-0 to in the third place match in Division 2. Antoine Allard lost in four sets, 6-11, 14-12, 11-2, 11- 4 against Rooe Avraham. The meeting lasted 43 minutes. Joeri Hapers was beaten in three sets and 42 minutes by Daniel Poleshchuk, 11-9, 11-7, 11-9.
