Sürpriz, the successful Berlin kebab shop, opens a new address in Paris

It has become an essential address for lovers of kebab Berliner. After opening its first two addresses in the 10th and 11th arrondissement of Paris, Surpriz opened, Wednesday May 1, 2024, a new restaurant in Bastille, still in the 11th arrondissement.

An institution since 2019

Behind this fast food restaurant, quickly elevated to the rank of a Parisian institution, we find two German entrepreneurs “driven by the pleasure of sharing a piece of their culture and showing the true face of Germany”. The chicken meat, entirely caramelized, is prepared by an expert butcher from Berlin. The breads and pancakes are made by a baker.

As for fruits and vegetables, forget the traditional “salad-tomatoes-onions” triptych. At Sürpriz, we find red onions, parsley, white or red cabbage and arugula, delivered every day from Rungis. The potatoes used to make the fries that accompany the kebabs come from a farm less than 50 km from Paris.

For sauces, the Berlin tradition is also respected with Kräuter (with herbs), knoblauch (with garlic) and Scharf (smoked ketchup style). A new dessert completes the menu: a homemade wafer.

Inside, customers will enjoy their sandwich with a selection of German drinks in a musical atmosphere “directly inspired by Berlin clubs”.
