Canada concluded its day with a victory and a defeat on Saturday at the Olympic 3×3 basketball qualifying tournament in Japan.
Ranked favorites, the Canadians started the day with a 22-9 victory over the Netherlands but later lost 22-16 to the Australians.
With a 2-1 record, the representatives of the maple leaf will face Germany in the semi-final on Sunday.
Australia and Brazil will compete for the other place in the final.
The champions of this tournament will secure their place at the Paris Olympics next summer.
If the Canadians do not emerge victorious from this tournament, they will have another chance to qualify, in Hungary, later in May.
The three best-ranked teams from this event, which will bring together 16, will complete the group of eight teams which will go to the Olympics.
