Fez: A man attacks MP Aziz Lebbar with a knife

Shortly after 8 p.m., this Tuesday, October 1, 2024, a man attacked with a knife and seriously injured the deputy, vice-mayor of Fez and tourist operator, Aziz Lebbar, as well as the director of one of his hotel establishments, Noureddine El Khomssi.

Equipped with a knife, the 37-year-old struck the hotel manager several times before attacking the parliamentarian. The first was seriously injured in the face, neck and arms, while the deputy was attacked in the head. The incident occurred in a palace located on the road to Meknes near a supermarket. A particularly violent scene witnessed by dozens of foreign tourists who were preparing to leave the hotel to dine in a restaurant in the medina.

Although the suspect’s motives are not yet known, the police arrested him a few minutes after his crime. According to initial findings, the alleged assailant is none other than the brother of a security guard working in a hotel belonging to MP Lebbar. The two men victims of this “mysterious” attack were evacuated to the emergency room of a private clinic located in the Oued Fez district, not far from the scene of this tragedy. They received initial medical treatment (…) before being transported to Hassan II University Hospital for in-depth examinations. Especially since parliamentarian Lebbar (PAM) suffers from health problems while his hotel manager is brutally attacked on different parts of his body.

To be continued.
