La Vinadie, in Figeac, a new vineyard in the Lot, opens its doors, Sunday May 5, 2024 it is also an opportunity to announce the launch of the 2023 vintage.

Sunday May 5, the managers of the SCIC La Vinadie and two from the IUT are offering a day event around the Figeac vineyards.

Students in 1D year of BUT Marketing Techniques at the IUT, Candice Julia and Jean-Rémy Malaviolle offered the site operators a collaborative project intended to promote the activity of the SCIC (collective interest cooperative society) and encourage new members to join the adventure. The two students were responsible for communication (social networks, publications, contact with the local press) and the organization of this day.

Open to the proposal, Jean-Pierre Espeysse, president of the management board of the SCIC of La Vinadie, notes that “the membership is made up largely of citizens. We currently have 600 members. The vineyard was created in April 2019. We work a lot with companies in Figeacois. There is a very positive vision. The desired target is artisans, traders, restaurateurs, accommodation providers, for whom wine can constitute a premium product. We asked the students to target this clientele in particular, from which potential members can come.” Candice Julia specifies that “we were the ones who requested it. We discovered in the vineyard of La Vinadie an interesting project in the reconquest of territory “.

In the program

Sunday May 5, 2024, the event takes place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., at the La Vinadie winery, at 812 route du Pech de Dausse. Several stands are set up on site. The program includes wine tasting (rosé and red), a walk through the vineyards (located below the La Vinadie agricultural high school), a visit to the cellar (to understand how the wine is formatted), the sale of bottles, as well as an information stand (to collect future memberships in particular). Jean-Rémy Mallaviolle specifies that “the objective is to maintain a moment of conviviality, to discover the vineyard through the testimonies of the member members”. This morning of discovery, open to all, will also be the opportunity to inaugurate the launch of the 2023 vintage.

Remember that the choice of organic viticulture was chosen for the entire vineyard, making it possible to combine development and response to consumer needs. A cultivation manager, Bernard Lacombe, was hired at the beginning of 2020 to manage the vines, plus an apprentice. Currently, it covers 5.3 hectares (approximately 25,000 vines) and includes four types of grape varieties (Merlot, Malbec, Mansois, and Muscat d’Alexandrie). The winery was produced in the summer of 2022.
