During these nine days, each of the three will have its period. THE kite specialists will have the honor of launching this new edition.
The official kick-off will be given this Friday, May 3 at the end of the afternoon. Until Sunday May 5, athletes will have to carry out incredible choreographies on the water, carried by the tramontane during timed sessions.
From Monday May 6 to Wednesday May 8, spectators will only have eyes for the kings of Wingfoil. Several races are organized during these three consecutive days, notably on the long Plage de la Vieille Nouvelle in Gruissan.
Several races 10 to 20 kilometers are planned at sea during these three days.
This competition has only been incorporated into the Aude event for 2 years. With success being achieved by both the athletes and the public, the organizers were forced to “limit” the number of competitors this year. at 400.
40 kilometers!
Finally, the Défi Wind 2024, often nicknamed “the Woodstock of surfing”, will end in style with the windsurfing competitions. This year, several hundred participants are registered. They will have to carry out a round trip between Gruissan and Port-la-Nouvelle, i.e. 40 kilometers on the sea.
In 2023, 1400 competitors had embarked on this crazy race. The youngest was only 13!
