Stop for a moment, relieve the pressure And release the stress. This is the whole point of the “Bubble”, a room set up in the Fragonard high school in Isle-Adam (Val-d’Oise) and open since November. Here, no surprise questions, painful exercises or uncomfortable desks, but soft seatsa soothing music and works ofart therapy.
This experiment was born as part of the promotion of student mental health within a school dropout prevention group.
“This is the first time I’ve seen [ce type d’espace] in a high school and I find it wise. »
Return to calm
For the high school teaching team, it was necessary to create this respite space. For students, but not only. “This bubble is also open to high school staff,” explains Mathilde Blugeon, assistant principal of Fragonard high school. We welcome students in stressful situations for them avoid being sent home. He returns to calm thanks to breathing exercises, music or art therapy. Members of the teaching team are trained in these techniques and high school staff are always present in pairs in the Bubble. »
Wednesday April 24, Valérie Pécresse, the president (Lr) of the Île-de-France Region, and Marie-Christine Cavecchi, the president (Lr) of the Val-d’Oise Departmental Council, visited the Fragonard high school and took note of the numerous initiatives put in place by teachers and students. The bubble particularly appealed to them. “We don’t become the first high school in Val-d’Oise by chance,” judged Valérie Pécresse. This is the first time I see [ce type d’espace] in a high school and I find it wise. »
Congratulations shared by Marie-Christine Cavecchi. “I find it great to see the teaching teams train in well-being. The success of an establishment is above all its teachers and staff, admires the president of the Departmental Council. At the Department, we can have equipment and premises, but we have to find committed teams. This interests me and it is an avenue to follow for our middle school students. »
“We needed a place dedicated to the well-being of students to rest and return to calm. »
Relaxation area
As for high school students, La Bulle de Fragonard received a very positive reception. Between the months of November and January, 58 students and two adults passed through the premises. The management of the school also noted an increase in attendance at Terminale during the white bac. “We needed a place dedicated to the well-being of students to rest and return to calm,” confides Maëlle, student in 1D and vice-president of the high school life council (Cvl). We also created little cards to encourage students to go there. »
La Bulle will surely be imitated in the coming months. Other Valdois establishments are already working on their own relaxation area. “We presented this project to colleagues from the Pontoise basin and we are also working with the Pierre-et-Marie-Curie college (from L’Isle-Adam) who wants to create their own respite room,” adds Mathilde Blugeon.
