CGEM launches its “CGEM for Tech Founders” offer dedicated to startups

This initiative was unveiled during an event held at the CGEM headquarters in Casablanca, dedicated to the development levers of the Moroccan digital ecosystem, in the presence of Mr. Chakib ALJ, President of the CGEM, and Ms. Ghita MEZZOUR, Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform and Mr. Mohamed BENCHAABOUN, Director General of the Mohammed VI Fund for Investment. It aims to support startups in their growth, by offering them concrete solutions that make their daily lives easier and help them develop their business.

CGEM for Tech Founders includes different services, including:

-The facilitation of administrative procedures through dedicated corridors established with national organizations, in particular the DGI and the Office des Changes;

-Listening and taking into account the needs and demands of the tech ecosystem in the action of the CGEM as a force for proposals with public authorities;

-Participation in CGEM events, particularly in speed-networking format, to allow startups to meet investors and potential partners;

-Access to the CGEM network of more than 90,000 members to encourage collaboration.

Addressing the participants, Mr. Chakib ALJ affirmed that “We are proud to announce today the launch of the “CGEM for Tech Founders” offer which will bring real added value to startups in alignment with the Maroc Digital strategy. 2030. Like any business, a startup needs to find opportunities to grow. We have, both public and private, a responsibility to facilitate their access to markets and must keep in mind that granting a market to a start-up also means participating in the development of the ecosystem.”

This event also made it possible to present the National Digital Strategy by Ms. Ghita MEZZOUR who highlighted the government’s efforts to encourage digital innovation. For his part, Mr. Benchaaboun recalled that the Mohammed VI Investment Fund aims to create the conditions for the emergence of an efficient venture capital industry, capable of supporting the development of an ecosystem of Moroccan startups. international vocation. He underlined that the selection process for startup funds, launched as part of an innovative partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform and the CDG, sparked strong mobilization from management companies with 47 national and international applications covering a wide spectrum of funding stages and innovative sectors. All bidders were interviewed and the pre-selection results will be announced in the coming weeks.

Finally, the meeting was marked by a round table moderated by leading tech players, including Mr. Mehdi CHERIF ALAMI, CEO & Co-Founder of Freterium, Mr. Ismail BARGACH, CEO & Co-Founder of WafR, Mr. Omar LAALEJ, Managing Director of Al Mada Ventures, Ms. Hind LFAL, Secretary General of Maroc and Mr. Redouane EL HALOUI, President of APEBI, who shared their experiences and visions on the development of technological innovation in Morocco .
