Météo France finally places Corsica-du-Sud on orange rain flood vigilance from tomorrow, Thursday October 3, 2024. Its neighboring department, Haute-Corse, remains on yellow vigilance.

Rain from the Balearic Islands
“At the end of the night from Wednesday to Thursday, rainstorms coming from the Balearic Islands (Spain, editor’s note) hit Corsica. These rains are quite intense, of the order of 30 to 40 mm per hour, which can affect the same area for 2 to 3 hours. We expect in Southern Corsica 50 to 70 mm widespread, locally 80 to 100 mm in a short time including near the coast, very occasionally a little more”indicates Meteo France in its bulletin.
On Thursday afternoon, the rain should move towards Italy but showers, this time stormy, should appear in the evening, mainly affecting the north of the island.
