The opening of the new UFC-Que Choisir Val de Seine office, in Limay (Yvelines), is scheduled for October 5, 2024, in the presence of Michel Rochereau, president of the association of consumer defense.

Every other Saturday, the office will welcome individuals facing a dispute by appointment. “This can range from a conflict with a telephone operator or with a bank to problems of defects or scams », Explains Michel Diquero, member of the association’s office.

“People come with their files and our advisors give explanations on how to defend themselves. They can also take care of the problem in exchange for a membership to the association of €30 for the year. »

A pair of advisors

The two advisors, specially trained on these questions, will receive the public in a closed office in order to respect confidentiality. “It is rare that they are unable to resolve the situation,” continues the UFC-Que Choisir volunteer.

“Three quarters of disputes are resolved without going to court. Otherwise, we can direct people to a mediator or offer them the opportunity to benefit from the association’s legal assistance. »

A return to Mantois

Based in Verneuil-sur-Seine, the UFC Que Choisir Val de Seine already offers five positionsof this type in the Yvelines department. At headquarters, but also in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, Mureaux, Poissy and Andrésy.
