A “major transformation” for the mass distribution in Alençon (Orne).

This is how the Julien Corporate group announces its arrival at the helm of theCarrefour hypermarket from Condé-sur-Sarthe/Alençon.

First franchisee for the Alençon store

The store, which was until then owned by the Carrefour group, has been in the hands of the Norman group since Thursday May 2, 2024. So this is the first time that the Alençon hypermarket is managed by a franchise.

The Julien Corporate group, based in Caen (Calvados), is far from being an unknown face in the Carrefour universe and in the trade in general.

Created in 2011 by current CEO Didier Julien, the company, which employs 720 people, manages 20 stores and several brands, such as Carrefour and Carrefour Market, but also Mr DIY or the Fnac.

In the Condé-sur-Sarthe shopping mall, Julien Corporate is only in charge of large-scale distribution, Mr Bricolage and Fnac being managed by other franchisees.

“A good neighbor who contributes to the local economy”

This recovery “is part of the development andregional expansion» of the group, indicates its communications department.

In particular, he wishes to decorate the shelves with more fresh products, in particular by returning “towards a traditional butchery “, but also by reopening, from June, “a real fish shop“.

There bakery will also switch back to “homemade”, for bread as for pastries .

Finally, the creation of a sandwich shopat the entrance to the store is planned.

Hire “for all positions”

To do this, new arrivals announce their hiring intentions.

Such a transformation cannot be done without finding new collaborators.
