“We remain a solid partner with the municipalities and intermunicipalities of Haute Garonne”

Thursday September 26, the departmental elected officials, meeting in a permanent committee, reiterated their commitment to the municipalities and stakeholders of Haute-Garonne, despite a worrying financial context. They thus voted for an envelope of more than 11 million euros to support municipalities and intermunicipalities in the creation and rehabilitation of local facilities (schools, nurseries, sports halls, cultural spaces, etc.).

The Department is particularly committed to supporting the modernization of the Saint Gaudens slaughterhouses up to 900,000 euros, in order to contribute to food quality in Haute-Garonne and structure a local meat sector.

More than 7 million euros of investments will also be allocated to the renovation of three social and medico-social establishments for the elderly or people with disabilities.

During this permanent commission, the departmental elected officials also adopted several subsidies in favor of the plan of urban renewal of the metropolis for an amount of 1.5 million euros.

The Departmental Council pursues the ambition of achieving carbon neutrality of public buildings and their adaptation for summer comfort by 2035. More than 600,000 euros have been voted for the energy renovation of social housing.

« Despite a very constrained financial context, we remain able to act thanks to sound management, and remain a solid partner with municipalities, intercommunities and Haut-Garonnais stakeholders, to provide daily services, to fight against sentiment abandonment, relegation and dehumanization of our public services expressed by our fellow citizens. The Departmental Council remains a pole of stability“, declared Sébastien Vincini, president of the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council.
