“Avoid the area!” : Diro announces works and disruptions on the Nantes ring road and the A811

“Traffic will be very difficult, avoid the area!” ” Mass has been said. From Monday May 13 to Friday July 5, 2024, the West Interdepartmental Roads Directorate (Diro) will intervene on the A811 to renovate the roadway between the Vieilleville and Porte d’Anjou interchanges, at Carquefou and Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire.

The work will last seven weeks, with night, day and weekend interventions.

Traffic will be diverted and in order to minimize the inconvenience for users, three phases of traffic diversion and ramp closures are planned.

However, these precautions will not prevent slowdowns and traffic jams in the area and on the ring road. The Diro is already planning “major disruptions, with traffic jams that can reach several kilometers in certain places “. Nantes news make the point.

First phase of construction

From Monday May 13 to Friday May 17, the A811 will be closed at night, from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

• closure in both directions, between the two roundabouts located on either side of the Porte d’Anjou;
• the ramps of the Porte d’Anjou interchange will be kept open;
• specific deviations will be put in place.

Second phase of work

From Monday May 27, from 10 a.m. until Friday June 14, at 4 p.m., the A811 and certain slip roads will be closed 24 hours a day:

• closure of the A811 towards Angers, from Porte d’Anjou to the A11 motorway;
• closure of the entrance and exit ramps, towards Angers, the Madeleine and Linot interchanges, as well as the Porte d’Anjou entrance ramp;
• lifting of the toll on the A11 at the Vieilleville interchange.

Diversions will be put in place by Diro.

Third phase of work

From Monday June 17, at 10 a.m., to Friday July 5, at 4 p.m., the A811 and certain slip roads will be again closed 24 hours a day:

• closure of the A811 towards Bordeaux, from the Vieilleville interchange to Porte d’Anjou;
• closure of the entrance and exit ramps towards Bordeaux, the Vieilleville, Madeleine and Linot interchanges, as well as the Porte d’Anjou exit ramp;
• lifting of the toll on the A11 at the Vieilleville interchange.

Diversions will be put in place to guide motorists.

Call for vigilance

Motorists are urged to exercise caution due to expected slowdowns. It is particularly recommended to keep your safety distance.

Signs and speed limits must also be respected in order to preserve the safety of Diro agents.
