La Courneuve: the rental dispute escalates, a police officer strangled and kneed in the face

The dispute between owners and tenant degenerated and the intervention of the police did not resolve anything, quite the contrary. This Sunday at the end of the day, agents from the police station were requested by a woman who had just been evicted manu militari from the apartment she occupied on the second floor of a building on rue Villot.

Once dislodged, the complainant contacted the local police station from the public highway. On going there, the officials were quickly attacked by members of a family presenting themselves as the owners of the property. While one of them tried to punch the tenant, the police intervened.

It was then that one of the occupants strangled an agent for several seconds. The latter also received two knee blows in the face. According to one of his colleagues, he was close to losing consciousness and remained on the ground for a long time. He was transported to Delafontaine hospital in Saint-Denis to receive treatment.

The turn of the intervention required the arrival of police reinforcements. Four people were arrested for intentional violence committed against people holding public authority. They were still in police custody this Monday at the end of the day. The tenant of the apartment filed a complaint following this altercation.
