When motherhood leads to entrepreneurship

There you will find clothing lines from all over the world and original Quebec products. To please even more, Petite Céleste has thought of all budgets.

In 2022, Carine Auclair gives birth to her daughter Céleste. At that time, the woman from Quebec led a hectic career in aviation that took her to the four corners of the planet. But this birth changes everything. It becomes complicated for her to reconcile this cosmopolitan career and raising a child. Carine therefore decides to realize a cherished dream that will allow her to see her daughter grow up: that of opening a children’s boutique.

The adventure will begin with a space on René-Levesque Boulevard. After a few months of experiencing the repair projects on this artery, Carine Auclair chose to leave her downtown address without abandoning her business.

A client, responsible for specialized rentals at Place Ste-Foy, learning of the closure of this charming little boutique, invited her to consider this shopping center as a place of business. That was all it took to make the decision to settle there for two seasons. This spring, she will be there for two months and, for the holiday season, from October to December.

A friendly and unique shop

Petite Céleste wants to be a warm place, according to its owner. “For me, contact with customers is super important. I like it vibe European stores where it’s not just a transactional place, it’s a place where you can become friends. I like the experience to be personal.” People are welcome in this store. We will also offer workshops in collaboration with Little Havre. Yoga and discussions on various topics related to parenting are offered.

“I like exclusivity, little finds,” explains Carine Auclair, adding that in her business “everything is carefully selected.” In addition to international suppliers, there are also Quebec products that she finds. Described as local “favorites”, these are around thirty artisans with varied talents.

Several products were created especially for the pop-up store. “There is a lot of effort to participate in my project,” says the owner. It will even be possible to meet some of the creators who will come and visit on site.

And Petite Céleste’s style? “Chic, but comfortable! The material is important, it has to be soft. Embroidery, hand-painted fabrics, things that are out of the ordinary.”

For this spring adventure, we explore the theme of vacations. Swimsuits, clothes for a special occasion, bamboo layettes, lace, natural materials like linen, merino wool and classics like the sailor top knitted in cotton thread share the shelves. In short, pieces that will leave sweet memories.
