“the well could be used for other uses, notably cooling” responded Vincent Fristot the Deputy Mayor (Verts/Ades) to the Municipal Council on July 12, 2021. The municipality had carried out a borehole (€35,000) to fill the Jean Bron swimming pool and had given up using water from the groundwater. Questioned at the Municipal Council by Nicolas Pinel (UDI/Opposition) neither Eric Piolle nor Vincent Fristot state the reason why they change their mind: the maximum contents of tetrachloroethylene and trichloroethylene were largely exceeded IN the analyzed samples extracted from the drilling . On the contrary, the spokesperson for the municipal majority acts as if the problem did not exist and indicates that the well could be used for other purposes on the public highway? the misters? the gardens? THE “refreshment” covers a wide range of uses.
C. Ferrari: “THE METROPOLIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED”
Christophe Ferrari President (repentant Ps and re-Ps) of the Metropolis does not say anything else:“I learned that the City of Grenoble had carried out drilling in 2021 near the Jean-Bron swimming pool, to see if it was possible to fill it with water from the second aquifer and that the Regional Agency of health (ARS) had answered a categorical no (….) The least we could have done was for Grenoble to communicate to us the opinion of the ARS on the tests at the Jean-Bron swimming pool. Our vice-president, Anne-Sophie Olmos, in charge of the water cycle, should have spoken about it in council as soon as she had the results” (DL of 30/4/24).
WHY V.FRISTOT (Verts/Ades) ANNOUNCES THAT WATER CAN BE USED?
Why did the municipality hide the pollution of the water table even though it was aware of it in 2021 through an official notice from the Regional Health Agency (ARS)? While it is impossible to know the consequences of this pollution on the watering of gardens for example why did Vincent Fristot explain in his tone of a Stalinist bureaucrat (he has been elected Green of the political sect of Raymond Avrillier since 1995!) that this water will be used for the “refreshment” of Grenoble residents?
VILLENEUVE: WHY DOES THE MUNICIPALITY WANT A SWIMMABLE LAKE WITH POLLUTED WATER?
Why is the municipality maintaining, against the advice of residents, its “swimmable lake” project in Villeneuve fed by a seriously polluted aquifer?
At the last Metropolitan Council, the Piollist elected officials were the only ones to refuse the expansion of the Metropolis’s powers to water issues. Since they were largely beaten on this subject, Vice-President Anne-Sophie Olmos (a Green apparatchik) has increased the pressure to the point of explosion in order to create a classic smokescreen on the question of responsibilities. It was she who initiated proceedings against the election of the President of the Metropolis on behalf of the Grenoble clan.
E.PIOLLE WAITED FOR …. MARCH 2024 TO FILE A COMPLAINT
But informed since 2021 of the pollution of the water table, Eric Piolle filed a complaint without effect only… in March 2024 to cover himself and clear customs and do nothing that could advance the subject. We understand that he had other concerns – becoming President of the Republic – but being so ineffective on such a question of public health leaves one wondering.
WATER BECOMES A VICTIM OF THE METROPOLITAN WAR
Added to the loss of catchments owned by the city for 100 years, the “water debt” of the city to the Metropolis, this matter of groundwater pollution is increasing considerably against a backdrop of war in the metropolitan “majority”.
Alain CARIGNON REQUESTS A “SPECIAL INVESTIGATION COMMISSION”
In a letter addressed to Christophe Ferrari, Alain Carignon, President of the opposition group calls for the constitution ” of a special commission of inquiry” on this file. It belongs “a major disagreement within your executive to manage this problem, delays in taking it in hand and perhaps dysfunctions in dealing with it.”
“The result is an opacity which is worrying since political leaders are not able to provide answers on the use of groundwater and possible dangers for health.”
DETERMINE EACH’S RESPONSIBILITIES
The President asks how the Metropolis, which has decided to broaden its powers in terms of pollution control, could exercise it through a Vice-President, Anne-Sophie Olmos, opposed to this choice!
Alain Carignon believes that, “this being a case of exceptional seriousness “, the special commission” would aim to reconstruct the history of this pollution, the decisions taken at each stage and the responsibilities of each person. It should be chaired by an elected official from the first opposition group (1) within the Metropolis in order to be credible.”
THE METROPOLITAN MAJORITY IS DROWNED IN POLLUTION
Let us hope that the need for transparency required by such a sensitive and important issue as water quality will be taken into account. The Metropolitan “majority” (Greens/LFI/PC/PS) is now almost drowned in pollution. She owes it to the Grenoble Red/Green elected officials who completely missed the subject even though they had all the information. Will everyone keep their finger on the seam of their pants to defend the indefensible on this water issue?
RESPONSIBLE ELECTED OFFICIALS DISAGREE TO HANDLE THE FILE
This will be a good test to check if the 35 elected officials who still remain in the Piolle majority are all totally lobotomized in order to repeat completely false elements of language or if some remember why they were elected. In any case, this issue, given its sensitivity, could be that of the explosion of the Metropolitan majority because it is difficult to see how citizens would accept in the long term that their “responsible” elected officials disagree in dealing with it.
