The 32nd day of Betclic ELITE formalized Paris’ 2nd place at the end of the regular season with the 23rd consecutive victory for the capital club, in Chalon-sur-Saône.
Paris Basketball had been assured for a while of playing its first playoffs in Betclic ELITE. But after its victory in Chalon-sur-Saône, the capital club now knows where it will finish the regular season: 2nd! Thanks to a once again dominant TJ Shorts (24 points and 8 assists), Tuomas Iisalo’s team was able to build on its good start to the match to win at the Coliseum (73-84).
Cholet loses big against Dijon
Cholet Basket is no longer in control of its destiny for the playoffs. CB suffered a 5th consecutive defeat in Betclic ÉLITE against JDA Dijon (79-88). Facing the winner of the Coupe de France, led by a very efficient Allan Dokossi (23 points and 11 rebounds), Laurent Vila’s team can particularly regret its clumsiness on the free throw line (19/30).
A disappointment that benefits Strasbourg and Nancy! The Grand Est teams won respectively in Boulogne-Levallois (85-67) and against Roanne (84-79). Thus, in the race for the top 8, the two teams are now ahead of Cholet (10th). With 15 victories for each member of this trio, the last two days promise to be thrilling. For the moment, SIG Strasbourg holds 8th place.
Gravelines-Dunkerque misses a first match point
For the race to maintain, everything remains to be done between Gravelines-Dunkerque, Roanne and Blois. ADA is the only team to have won, becoming the 3rd team of the season to beat Nanterre at home (103-106). Despite the absences of Tobin Carberry and Thomas Hieu-Courtois, the Blesois interior Armel Traore led the charge for the Loir-et-Cher club with 23 points and 9 rebounds.
The BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque missed a first opportunity to ensure its survival. The Chorale de Roanne did not benefit from this northern setback, beaten by SLUC Nancy (84-79). Despite Sekou Doumbouya’s 28 points, the Ligiens finally had to surrender in the final minutes in Gentilly.
