Information from lawyer Juan Branco, French justice has set a date to give its opinion on the opening of the crime against humanity trial against Senegalese officials.

“French justice has set its deliberations on November 6, 2024 on the opening of proceedings for crimes against humanity brought against Senegalese officials,” said the Franco-Spanish lawyer.

As a reminder, a complaint was filed in by Me Juan Branco against former Senegalese President Macky Sall and his former collaborators for crimes against humanity. The lawyer accuses Macky Sall and other senior Senegalese officials, including Interior Minister Antoine Félix Diome, of orchestrating a violent crackdown against political opponents and demonstrators.

These repressions reportedly led to the deaths of 50 people and numerous arbitrary detentions. Branco also highlights that the Senegalese government has ordered 104 tons of weapons delivered to the presidency in the second half of 2022.
