On the occasion of National Caregivers’ Day and Close Caregivers’ Week (1st week of October), Resamest Réseau de Santé de Est is launching two sessions of “Training for (Close) Caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease or related diseases”.

For the Coal Basin, it will take place in Faulquemont, Bas Steinbesch social center, 3 place du Bas Steinbesch. First session on Thursday, October 3 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

On the agenda for this first session: welcome and presentation of the program, round table and expectations of the participants, hosted by Resamest.

Session 2 – Tuesday, October 8, 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: understanding Alzheimer’s disease and related diseases, medical-social care, led by Dr. Paule Watremez, geriatrician.

Session 3 – Thursday October 17, 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: nutrition in people with the disease (malnutrition, etc.), led by Caroline Grouselle, dietician.

Session 4 – Thursday, October 31, 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: preventing falls, technical aids and home adaptations, led by Sarah Schmitt, occupational therapist.

Session 5 – Tuesday, November 5, 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: the caregiver/care recipient relationship – the impact of illness on family dynamics, presentation of the “La Parenthèse” Caregiver’s House, hosted by Claire Wilmouth, psychologist.

Session 6 – Thursday, November 14, 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: support and respite solutions: ESA, SSIAD, SAAD, respite platform, day care, temporary accommodation, discussion groups, etc., led by Alys – specialized Alzheimer’s team, by the PR57 Respite Platform and by Resamest.

Session 7 – Thursday, November 21, 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: financial aid, legal protection (guardianship, curatorship), led by the Pôle Autonomie and the Association Active 57.
