A bomb will burst [sic] to college “. On the morning of Thursday April 25, a threatening letter was left in the box to the letters of Jean-Rostand collegein Bray-sur-Seine, in Seine-et-Marne.

As a result, all meetings scheduled after 5:30 p.m. were canceled that evening. A protocol security has also been established for the morning of Friday April 26. The establishment opened at 8 a.m. and no staff or students were to arrive before this time. Identity checks and systematic bags were carried out for each person entering the college.

“The police are fully mobilized to deal with the situation and to ensure Security of the entire educational community,” assured the college management.

17 gendarmes mobilized

Effectively, 17 gendarmes of the Provins company and the Coulommiers surveillance and intervention platoon were mobilized in the morning, with the reinforcement of a team of dog team specialized searching for explosives on the crowds. This allowed the removal of doubt, no bomb having been found.

“The students and teaching staff were very cooperative. They respected the safety instructions given to them, which made the maneuver easier without overly penalizing the start of classes,” the gendarmerie points out.

An offense

The Bray-sur-Seine brigade is in charge of the investigation to identify the author of this false alarm. The fact of disclosing false information with the aim of provoking the intervention of emergency services is an offense liable to €30,000 fine and of 2 years of imprisonment.
