A climatic episode affected the Lot-et-Garonne department this Saturday, April 27, which was successively placed on yellow and orange alert for “a stormy phenomenon expected from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.”. At the start of the afternoon, between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., a strong gust of wind hit the Lot valley, in Villeneuvois and Fumélois. Firefighters carried out 35 interventions, mainly for trees, branches and poles that had fallen onto the road. Numerous power outages were recorded, with Enedis interventions underway in the early evening.
Later in the afternoon (between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.), a big storm broke out in the department. In Agenais, the episode caused some damage. In Laroque-Timbaut, telephone poles fell at a place called Lalande and the road was closed to traffic pending the arrival of telephone services. The line concerned is 1.50 m from the ground between the Lalande intersection and the Route d’Augente towards Cassignas. The mayor of Laroque-Timbaut called on residents to exercise great caution.
Also note that the match of the Crabos juniors of SU Agen against Stade Toulouse, which took place on a side field at the Armandie stadium, was interrupted in the 60th minute by the referee due to the storm.
