This is good news for the town of Janaillat in Creuse. It belongs of the first 100 beneficiaries of the national collection in favor of the religious heritage of the villages of . The list was revealed this Friday April 26 by the Heritage Foundation. This collection launched by Emmanuel Macron in September 2023 on the occasion of heritage days must help municipalities with less than 10,000 inhabitants to preserve their religious buildings. This is the case of Janaillat which has just renovated its Saint-Saturnin church.

A brand new roof

The restoration project at the Saint-Saturnin church ended this week. The roof of the bell tower and the nave has been redone. The town has not benefited from many subsidies because the church is not classified. So to lighten the bill, she launched a call for donations. More than 19,000 euros have already been collected, to which will be added this windfall from the national collection. The amount of this financial boost is currently unknown. It should arrive by the end of summer.
