A fire in Lévis leaves two seriously injured


At the very end of the night in Lévis, a fire leaves two seriously injured

Around 4 a.m., firefighters fought a fire on rue Barras in the Vieux-Lévis sector. When the first crews arrived, the fire had broken out behind the building on the third floor and spread to the roof.

Two elderly people who found themselves trapped inside their home were evacuated by firefighters. The two victims were transported to hospital, they were seriously injured, said the Lévis police spokesperson.

The six tenants of the other accommodations had evacuated the premises.

Around thirty firefighters intervened.

The police department is taking charge of the investigation file in order to determine the cause and origin of the fire. For the moment the police department cannot decide whether it was an arson or an accident. The spokesperson indicated that investigators and specialists should arrive on site this morning to begin the investigation.
