Dakar, April 26 (APS) – Head of State Bassirou Diomaye Faye expressed his sadness following the deadly traffic accident that occurred Thursday in Koungheul, a locality in the center of the country, and invited the competent services to provide assistance to victims.
At least 14 people lost their lives and around 40 others injured when a public transport bus leaving for Kédougou (South-East) overturned near the village of Yamong in the department of Koungheul, security sources indicated.
”I learned with great sadness of the terrible road accident that occurred between Yamong and Mbadianène on the RN1 not far from Koungheul,” reacted President Faye.
In a message shared on the social network
Bassirou Diomaye Faye did not fail to present his ”sincere condolences” to the families of the victims as well as their loved ones” and wished ”a speedy recovery to the injured”.
