“(…) Upon receipt of the information by the Directorate of Children and Youth, mid-morning, the protocol was deployed by National Education, following a perceptible odor by a Middle Course class, located at level N+1 Without wasting a minute, supervised by the Rectorate, the teachers informed the parents.

At the same time, the firefighters were alerted. On their arrival around 10:10 a.m., the SDIS protocol, entitled “Novi” (numerous victims), was initiated. Indeed, out of prudence, the SDIS requested the evacuation of classes, so as to allow the usual investigations.

In total, between 10:40 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., 184 schoolchildren aged 3 to 12 are evacuated to the gymnasium, through rotations of two Casud buses.

Of course, we made sure to provide the children with a snack, including water, juice packs, and a snack (cookies), while the medical teams checked on the children’s health.

Tests were carried out by Casud on the sewers/sanitation and by Sdis to test for the presence of gas. These various surveys did not make it possible to identify the presence of gas or products causing the disorder caused.

After the prefectural agreement communicated by the Sdis, with the assistance of the Smur in the Novi procedure, the parents were invited, if they wished, to collect their children.

Around thirty children had lunch in the refectory of the Mare school, for older children, and at the Arc-en-Ciel school, for nursery school children. The latter were picked up by their parents at 3:30 p.m.

A decision to close the school was made for the next day (this Friday 04/26) in order to allow a complete cleaning of the establishment and the moving of the impacted class. The parents then received an SMS, coupled with an e-mail and relayed on the town hall’s social networks.
